Every teacher a student. Every student, a teacher. This SEO Dojo was founded to give those with an interest in search optimization, personally or professionally, a place to gain knowledge, interact and even teach others the craft.

The SEO Dojo was started as a place to collect search related documents, interact with others and spread the word of search optimization in it’s highest form. We felt there needed to be a place for the new adventurers and uber SEO geeks alike. For determined website owners, or professional SEOs, the in-house, the consultant… the shirt maker.

SEO Dojo

"The data shows that more than $1 billion in digital coupon savings was printed or loaded to a store..."

“The data shows that more than $1 billion in digital coupon savings was printed or loaded to a store loyalty card via the Coupons.com network in the last 12 months, outpacing the growth of coupons distributed in newspapers 10 to 1.”

- MediaPost Publications Digital Coupons Top Newspaper Printed Ten to One 08/02/2010

terryvanhorne:

Dave wrote an excellent post on the way that people carelessly tweet their location and other personal information over Social Networks. It doesn’t take a master criminal to figure out once some of your info is public… especially an address filling out the rest of your personal data completely is not far behind. Let’s not even go to the fact that tweeting your location at a given time is like giving directions to your stalkers.

Dave included this video in his appearance on SEM Synergy on Webmaster Radio. The discussion was based on polls we’ve taken that shows there is little to no strategy out there for Universal SERPs. The Strategies that Dave and I have developed have been very sufccessful.

This post started as a chat by Dr. Tim Nash on “best practices” for Indexing for Video SEO. Tim went into the different players including Flash, SilverLight and the HTML5 player. This is an amzing article and included in the SEO Training Dojo’s upcoming Universal Search ebook.

Google Universal Search: A Mystery and Some History

On May 16, 2007 Google rolls out Universal search results including more Map information on the main Google results page. That was the “official launch” of Universal, however, IMO, UNI started it’s ascent on the SERPs in 2005 when Froogle results provided the first “Shopping Paks” at the top of the SERP “triggered” by user intent indicated in the search query. Primarily intent was determined by transactional keywords like buy, cheap etc. and brand/product keywords in the query.

Google Universal Search: A Mystery and Some History

Social Media Higher Learning; Part II

In the first instalment we went through a bunch of social media / networking patents from the Big 3 (Google, Microsoft and Yahoo). Ok, the big 3 of search at least. There are certainly other big players in the space, we’ll get to that. This time out we’re going to look at some research papers, patents and even some videos relating to the world of social.

Social Media Higher Learning; Part II

Universal Search for Digital Asset Managers

Many are calling the techniques outlined here DAO (Digital Asset Optimization), however, I use the term DAM (Digital Asset Management) because I see optimization as a smaller part of the process. More important is managing the query space and choosing what Universal content verticals to add to the SERP.

Sometimes a basic, free keyword suggestion tool just isn’t enough. If you’re ready to move beyond the limited functionality of most online tools to do more in-depth keyword research for SEO and pay-per-click campaigns, here are five advanced keyword research tools well worth checking out.

This leads to a link building campaign that’s full of fits and starts, a campaign that never achieves a terminal velocity.

As we made our way through the various potential benchmarks and KPI metrics, it became clear; all is not at it first would seem. Right away you should understand that each website, each business model and market creates new challenges. This is where the art of SEO comes into play.
